Visitors may choose among a variety of beaches ideal for recreation and various activities, such as diving and observing the seabed. In fact, on the islet of Trafos, east of Kaloi Limenes, Matala, Lentas, and Agios Ioannis of Kapetaniana, diving enthusiasts will be able to discover sunken archaeological ruins.
The imposing relief of the Asterousia Mountains comprises a great number of gorges, mainly stretching along its southern part. The gorges of the Western Asterousia are accessible on foot in contrast to the main part of the mountain range, which has gorges that require special techniques and equipment. The most important gorges are the following: Valachas, Maridaki, Tsoutsouros, Mesosfini, Ethiano, and Ambas.
Lastly, in recent years more and more canoe enthusiasts choose to visit the gorges and waterfalls of Asterousia.
